Tips for CMAT exam

Taking an entrance exam is a mental challenge for most of the students. But if you prepare the exam with right attitude, techniques and strategy the whole process of taking the exam, becomes a lot easier. Here are some good tips for students who are preparing for entrance exams. We believe that these tips will help the students to remain a step ahead of others.

Start preparing early:

Start preparing for the entrance exam as early as possible. This will give you more time for preparation and also leave time for revision.

Take plenty of practice tests:
Take as many practice tests as possible. Try to attempt the entire practice test in a time bound manner, as if you are taking the final entrance test. This will help you get more familiar with the type of questions that are asked in test and also make you aware of your strengths and weaknesses. Attempting mock tests on Patshala.com will familiarize you with the kind of challenges you might face while giving the actual CMAT test. By challenges we mean the difficulty level of questions, time restriction, negative marking etc.

Leave sufficient time for revision:
Revision is very important. You should at least revise 2 times, all that you have studied. There are high chances that, without revision, you may forget what you have studied. So keep sufficient time for revision.

Study well, stay focused and calm:
All of the resources, tools, test prep services and even tutoring sessions will not result in outstanding test scores if you don't create - and stick to - a consistent study schedule. Stay focused and calm. Keep some buffer time in your study schedule so that if you are not able to finish studying a particular topic within the schedule, then you can make use of the buffer time in your schedule to finish studying the topic.

On the test day:
Reach the examination center before time. Candidates are required to arrive at the test center One Hour and Thirty minutes prior to the test time. For the test beginning at 9.30 am, you must reach the test center no later than 8:00 AM. Similarly for the test beginning at 2.30 pm, you must reach the test center no later than 1:00 PM for Security checks, Identity verification, and check-in.

Carry your identification documents.
Stay calm and focused. Do not get nervous and anxious.
Read the questions carefully and then answer.
Do not answer a question if you are not sure of the answer. It is better to leave the doubtful questions since a wrong answer would result in negative mark.
